I am reporting a serious safety failure in my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (1,483 miles). On XXX, the vehicle was parked with my wife and young children inside. Upon starting it, the vehicle would not shift into gear, the steering wheel locked, and the front windows stopped working. The lane departure symbol lit up during the failure, and the vehicle would not shut off through normal controls. After two hours, we shut it off by disconnecting the battery. When restarted, the check engine light and other warning lamps came on, and the vehicle began shaking and rattling. No crash occurred, but with steering locked and children in the car, I had no way to safely disable the vehicle for two hours. This could have caused loss of control if it happened while driving. No prior warning signs occurred before the incident. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or repair shop, as no certified Jeep dealership exists on Lanai, Hawaii, where I reside; shipping the vehicle requires barg transport to XX or XXX. The vehicle is available for inspection on request and is currently not in use. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am filing this formal safety defect complaint regarding the complete failure of the airbag system to deploy during a serious motor vehicle collision on [XXX], involving a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude (VIN: [XXX] ). This failure occurred in direct connection with a known manufacturer defect covered under NHTSA Recall #26V-328. The driver, [XXX] , sustained serious injuries that were significantly enhanced by the airbag failure. Neither the driver nor the vehicle owner, [XXX] , had any prior knowledge of this defect. We request that NHTSA open a formal investigation and take all appropriate enforcement action against Stellantis/FCA On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, [XXX] was operating the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude southbound on [XXX] . Conditions at the time were ideal — clear weather, dry roads, and full daylight visibility. [XXX] was traveling straight through a signalized intersection at the posted 35 MPH speed limit when his vehicle was struck by a 2024 Ford Expedition that failed to yield while making a left turn from northbound [XXX] . The result was a serious angle collision that caused disabling damage to the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed from the scene by Police Impound Quality Towing [XXX] ). [XXX] was wearing his shoulder and lap belt seatbelt and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The official State of Michigan Traffic Crash Report (Southfield PD, Incident #[XXX], Crash ID [XXX]) confirms all of these facts and documents that [XXX] bore no fault for this collision. A trailer hitch was contracted as part of the vehicle purchase on December 20, 2025, and was physically installed by Southern Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in January 2026 as a fulfillment of that purchase contract. This installation was performed by Stellantis's own authorized dealer technicians. The vehicle has been configured and warranted for towing use since January 2026 — an explicitly marketed capability of this vehicle platform. A trip was scheduled for May 18, 2026 to tow a 12-foot rigid inflatable boat (yacht tender) weighing approximately 600 pounds on a trailer from XXX to Fawcett Boat Services in XXX — a route of approximately 150 miles traversing [XXX] in heavy traffic at approximately 70 mph. The appointment at Fawcett Boat Services is verifiable. The boat's location in [XXX] is documentable. The air suspension failure occurred on May 17, 2026 — one day before this towing trip. The trip was canceled as a direct result. Had the failure occurred on May 18, 2026 during transit on Interstate 95: —The spontaneous asymmetric rear suspension collapse — right rear corner dropping without warning at 70 mph — would have subjected the hitch coupling to vertical and lateral forces outside its design tolerance —Trailer instability, jackknifing, or physical decoupling of a 600-pound loaded trailer at 70 mph in heavy interstate traffic is mechanically foreseeable —A decoupled trailer carrying a rigid boat structure at 70 mph in heavy traffic is a lethal projectile — the foreseeable consequences include multiple vehicle collisions and loss of life Stellantis marketed this vehicle as towing-capable. Stellantis's dealer installed the hitch. Stellantis knew — through its own published Technical Service Bulletins — that the Quadra-Lift system was prone to spontaneous failure at highway speed. The convergence of a known defect, an explicitly marketed and dealer-installed towing capability, and a spontaneous highway f INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On April 20, 2026, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was involved in a crash due to a sudden and complete brake failure. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was in the custody of an authorized FCA dealership. An employee of the dealership was operating the vehicle when the brakes completely failed to respond, resulting in an accident. FCA US LLC Special Investigations conducted an inspection (Case #[96529168]) and stated they found no physical evidence of a manufacturing defect or component malfunction. However, the mechanical or electronic failure was severe enough to cause a crash while being operated by a professional dealership technician. I am filing this complaint because sudden brake failure represents an extreme safety hazard to the public. The manufacturer has denied assistance, and independent federal oversight is required to determine if a software or hydraulic defect exists in this model year.

My vehicle wasn’t reading my key fob when I was pressing the lock and unlock button, so I took out the hard key and unlock the doors. Then the alarm set off and I was using the key fob again trying to shut the alarm off no response so I took the key fob and press the start stop button and the engine turn over and the key was working again then I went to shut off the engine same way. The engine would not shut off my driver seat wouldn’t move so I couldn’t get to the battery and I paid a lock smith to come out and he couldn’t even help me with my key fob not syncing with the vehicle..my ebreak would not release or the emergency override break wasn’t working. On the digital dash it’s kept saying shift to park to release parking break but the vehicle was in park all while doing so. This all happened around 7pm. So I could not get help until the morning cs the vehicle would not move

The Uconnect infotainment system is glitchy, blacks out, and has restarted itself. The dealership I purchased it from has currently had now for a 3rd time and over 30 days. The 2nd visit the screen was replaced and the same issues still exist. This is a huge safety concern, because the system has malfunctioned while in reverse which obstructs the rearview camera view. I can’t trust that rear sensors aren’t tied into this and will apply the brakes if I get too close to something or someone/something suddenly goes behind me in reverse. The blind spot monitoring system has gone out a few times and this limits the lane keep assist functions. The dealership has said they can’t replicate the issue and the first time this happened no codes came up despite there being a stored message on digital cluster display. They have replaced a sensor module this time, but as they still have the vehicle I don’t know if this has fixed the problem or not. This is obviously a huge safety issue as it could case a wreck if someone is in a blind spot and I can’t see them and the vehicle can’t help alert me to this. It also seemed to slightly impact the handling of the vehicle as well causing me to consistently need to make micro adjustments of the steering while driving. Among those issues I have been having other commonly known issues with vehicle such as the “key fob has left vehicle” message despite the key fob still being inside the vehicle. It does not matter which key fob is used and the battery to the fob is good. The dealership can’t four that out either and have checked to make sure the serial numbers on the fobs match the VIN. The fan speed pop-up when shutting off the vehicle displaying 127 front/0 rear can’t be figured out either and dealership verified it has the most updated software versions currently available. A lot of these issues have been there since I purchased it 12/2025 or showed up within 1-2 months of owning it. Finally took it to the dealership in March.

2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited - Mileage 8,855 - Owned for 6 months!!! - 11/22/2025 System failure with the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) & Active Braking (AB). Available for inspection upon request until vehicle buyback is complete. - At the point of failure the brakes locked up while traveling through a busy intersection bringing the vehicle to a complete stop and resulting in total engine power loss. The jeep was disabled for approximately 10-15 minutes before being able to start and move it clear of traffic. The abrupt braking could have caused a rear-end collision had someone been close behind us which also could have caused numerous vehicles to be involved. We turned off the FCW & AB system through the setting on the vehicle infotainment screen. - 11/26/2025 The dealership where we purchased the vehicle, confirmed numerous transmission codes and found metal shaving in the transmission fluid through a fluid test. Chrysler advised them to perform a "relearn" on the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and required us to drive it 500 miles to complete the "drive relearn" putting our safety at risk should this not be effective. On 11/27/2025 after turning the FCW & AB system back on, within 2 miles of performing the "drive relearn" the check engine light came back on and noise from the transmission was prominent. The vehicle went into limp mode not allowing acceleration past 10-15mph. On 12/1/2025 The Jeep was taken back to the dealership where they scanned and found code P0729 for gear error in 6th gear. They found the transmission internally failing. For 68 days Chrysler requested numerous testing from the dealership until finally agreeing to the warranty for a new transmission. Work completed 1/29/2026. - The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealerships mechanic who also performed the transmission swap. - There was no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

I was leaving a light and turning left onto incoming traffic Columbia and John young parkway. Vehicle turned off with no option of turning back on . I rolled onto the right curb but was sticking my vehicle out. Me and my wife and teenage son. Feared for our life due to the car not turning on and incoming traffic . This is a serious issue and hazard. The car asked me to put the car in park. After I did that the car would not turn on. Called SOS and Assist. We had Roadside coming 45 min later. There was a high pitched sound coming from the engine compartment . The car would not turn off at all. The Push Start Button would not turn the vehicle off or on. The Round buttons for D/N would not turn at all. The Tow truck driver use a red pull handle and put the transmission in neutral. It’s a release that was on the driver side pillar of the vehicle. After we arrived to Napleton Jeep the car immediately turned on. Our biggest safety concern is that this would’ve happened on a highway and my wife would not know how to react resulting in an accident or fatality. This is an issue that never in our 30 Years of experience we had with any of our vehicle brands. I wish the National Highway Safety Administration take measures to Jeep and investigate this matter. Thank you for your time

I purchased my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, new, approximately one month ago on [XXX] at Victory CDJR in Merrillville, IN 46410. Since purchase, the vehicle has been returned to the dealership three times for the same issue, and I am now scheduled for a fourth repair attempt. This fourth repair appointment was scheduled on the same day of the 3rd attempt hours after I picked it up because the problem wasn't resolved. The problem is that both key fobs randomly stop working, preventing reliable access to and operation of the vehicle. The failure is intermittent and unpredictable, which makes it especially concerning. Despite multiple service visits on November 26th, 2025, December 3rd, 2025, and December 31st, 2025, the issue has not been resolved and I now have to return the fourth time on January, 2nd, 2026. The dealership is never able to recreate the issue when they have the vehicle in their possession, but I have taken video of both key fobs not working and have tried to show them when I take the car in and they don't seem very interested in seeing the videos. There are no warnings to signal me of when the fobs will stop working because it is random. The first time this issue occurred was 2 days after I purchased the car on [XXX]. The Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Emergency Braking does not function, and we believe it has never function properly since we purchased the vehicle NEW on 8/22/25. The vehicle has been to the local Jeep dealer on numerous occasions to have the issue corrected, but to date, they are unable to determine a root cause or affect a repair. On the last repair visit, they conducted a road test with their employee driving and the service and myself in the car. They could not get the FCW to function either, despite a call to the Jeep remote assistance line and a reboot of the main control panel. The service manager indicated that he would reach out to their factory technical representative for assistance. They called me a few days later and asked my to bring the vehicle in again. It has now been at the dealer for an additional three days, with no apparent progress made. On a prior service visit, they indicated that they needed to open a " STAR record because they weren't seeing any error codes. I have no idea if either the STAR record or contact with the factory representative actually occurred. At this point, we don't feel safe driving the vehicle with our grandkids in it. In addition, these safety features, and the Jeep safety ratings, were a big factor in our decison to buy the Grand Cherokee. We can't help but feel that this is a known defect in the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve, and that Stellantis/Jeep and their dealer are either unwilling or unable to correct the serious safety issue this has created.

The Hatchback was suddenly in operable where none of the buttons or fobs would open or close the hatchback to the point I was not able to close the hatch manually and the hatch flung open while driving causing dangerous driving conditions. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the hatch but the buttons in the vehicle still didn't work and found it was the connector pins were not connecting. My concern is that I have family and children in my backseats and do not feel safe driving with passengers where the hatchback can open while driving on a new car 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee with only 14 miles when purchased less than a month ago for $40k+.

My vehicle is experiencing multiple dangerous electrical and drivetrain failures that occur intermittently and without warning. The issues began the day of purchase purchase and continue to worsen. Documented defects include: Vehicle randomly will not start Vehicle randomly will not turn off Dashboard/electronic systems reset intermittently (gauges go blank or restart, Bluetooth disconnects, warning indicators reset) Fuel gauge does not update while driving Sometimes vehicle will start but will not move (forward) when shifted into Drive or when in drive and brake pedal has been depressed. Vehicle sometimes fails to move when placed into Reverse Vehicle must be shut off and restarted to regain ability to move Key fob is not recognized by the doors or proximity sensors Driver’s seat creaks and feels unstable during acceleration Tire pressure sensor malfunction All systems intermittently disconnect/reset at the same time (suggesting a body control module or CAN-bus failure) Safety Concerns: The vehicle has refused to move in traffic, including while sitting in a drive-through line. The vehicle has failed to start in multiple public locations. The vehicle has failed to turn OFF, requiring multiple attempts. Loss of instrument cluster information could be very dangerous and matches symptoms currently under federal investigation for similar Jeep models (instrument panel cluster failures). These failures clearly impair the vehicle’s use, value, and safety, and appear to be part of a widespread electrical defect affecting Jeep products. A Jeep dealership confirms the issues and has scheduled service, but the problems continue to multiply. There are currently no open recalls for my VIN, although the symptoms match the national Jeep cluster/electrical investigation. I am submitting this complaint because these failures pose a serious danger to myself and other drivers + won't start. Please investigate this as a potential electrical/BCM/IPC/CAN-bus defect.

May 22nd, 2025- bought a brand new 2025 Grand Cherokee Jeep limited from Iverson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Huron South Dakota. - The computer module failed leading to multiple electrical issues such as fan for operating the A/C and heat and the screen for the radio constantly flickering and going black and then turning back on. - Our safety is at risk because the vehicle is not reliable. The fan goes from level 1 through 7 and it displayed "127" on the screen. We live in South Dakota and it's Winter now and our winters can and will be brutally cold. I don't feel safe with having our little daughter riding in a vehicle that is having constantly electrical issues. - The dealership and the manufacturer are aware of this issue but refuse to help and the dealership is still selling the same jeeps off the lot. - My husband and I having been fighting this since May 22nd, 2025 until present December 3rd, 2025. -Please see attachments for full explanation on the issue. - I also have alot more attachments I would like to share with the communications between the Iverson Dealership, the salesman and the CFO of Iverson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership but only 10 attachments are able to be uploaded.

Within weeks of purchasing my brand-new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, this past Thursday when leaving for my workday the steering wheel on my vehicle became completely immovable when I attempted to leave. I started the vehicle and tried to turn the wheel, but it would not move at all. There were no warning lights or alerts. I had no ability to steer or maneuver the vehicle, and it was completely undriveable. The vehicle had to be towed from my workplace to the dealership because the steering would not turn. After diagnosis, the dealer informed me that the entire power steering rack had failed and required full replacement. A power steering rack is a critical safety component, and a failure of this magnitude on a brand-new, very low-mileage vehicle is extremely concerning. If this defect had occurred while driving, it could have led to a total loss of steering control and a serious crash. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. I am requesting that NHTSA record this incident as a safety-critical steering system failure and investigate whether similar power-steering or steering-rack failures may be occurring in other 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokees.

Vehicle shuts off intermittently without warning. Random dash warning lights will flash, but not stay on. Air suspension will engage on its own while vehicle is not turned on, and electrical panels and lights will turn on and flash while vehicle is parked in garage, hours or days after last driven. Transmission will struggle to shift gears from low speeds, but then quickly “catch up” causing unpredictable acceleration. This vehicle has been to the dealership 5 times with batteries replaced, and software resets done, but no conclusion to what the source of the issue is. A camera was installed in our garage after the vehicle was sent home with us without being repaired due to being unable to replicate the issue. The camera captured 4 incidents of the vehicle electronics turning on, and air suspension raising up and down over a span of 5 days. We were advised to park the vehicle outside of our garage for fear of potential electrical fire, or it starting on its own. The vehicle is currently still in the dealership service department as they try to find the source of the issue. The vehicles electrical malfunctions have caused it to shut off on the highway, and while backing out of our driveway on multiple occasions. This puts both driver, occupants, and other drivers on the road at risk of being involved in a collision. The issues with the vehicle struggling to shift gears, and then “catching up” like a computer glitch, and accelerating unpredictably has been dangerous during merging into traffic.

A software error has caused the rearview image not to display when it is placed in reverse. This may cause harm to both driver and passenger in the vehicle due to an accident. Not being able to see in reverse can cause the driver to hit someone and or something without knowledge.
